You must identify yourself before we will accept your electronic submission. Hence, you must choose a user id and password. Use this page to assign a password to a new user id, or to re-assign a new password to an existing user id. We will all be confused if you create multiple user ids, and so have multiple identities. Please avoid this.
Your e-mail address is your user id. Any e-mail address delivered to you is acceptable, so long as you can reply to a message and in so doing return the text of the message to its originator. NOTE: In ordinary use, email addresses are not case sensitive. However, an email address used as a JCP UserID IS case sensitive. You may use any combination of upper and lower case letters for your UserID, but you must remember and use the same case in subsequent logins.
The email address you choose for your web username is used only to ensure manuscript revisions are submitted by the same person that uploaded the original manuscript. It does not matter what email address is used unless you lose your password and require re-validation (because re-validation sends an email to validate the password change request.)
If you are uncomfortable with the email address you have chosen for a username you are free to request another username and password. However if you have a paper in the submission process please use your old username and password to upload revisions. If this is not possible please write the editorial staff at editor@jcp.uchicago.edu and they will be able to assist you further.
Unused usernames eventually expire.
